Horse Containment Information

Only under special circumstances will you be allowed to NOT use a designated pen for your horse. Grass is hard to grow in the badlands and the land will have a hard time recovering from our horses trampling it. We will do our best to get your pen as close to your trailer as possible. There are 68 pens, we should have no problem having a pen for every horse. There is no additional fee for the pens

Certified weed-free hay IS NOT REQUIRED!

Ride Announcements

Camping Notice:

We have the entire Sully Creek horse campground reserved for Thursday through Sunday night. Ride Management will assign sites so we can fit in as many people as possible. There are 20 electric sites available and more primitive sites, pens are provided. Electric pens are not permitted.

The campground has limited space. Due to this, we do not allow non entered riders to reserve campsites. You MUST be entered in a ride in order to make reservations. If ride camp becomes full we have alternative locations you can camp and either ride in the morning of the ride or drive in and park in “day parking”.

Electric sites are $25.00 per night and primitive sites are $15.00 per night, no additional cost for pens. You will also need to purchase a daily vehicle pass at $7.00 per day or $15.00 for an annual pass.  Note:  the park raised camping prices after the ride flyer was published.

Reservations for Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights are made through the MnDRA Online Registration form. Once you are registered, Please contact Jutta Schmidt at juttainminot@gmail.com or 701-240-7849 to get site and pen assignments. We know things come up, and we will make refunds if canceled less a $25 cancellation fee.

If you are coming early or staying late, you can make those reservations directly here: parkrecnd.com – Find a Campground or RV parks and Make campground reservations online (search for Sully Creek State Park) Please keep in mind to get a site assignment first so you don’t have to move, if possible.

If the Sully Creek campground is fully booked, overflow camping is also available at the Bar X Ranch right across the river within walking distance. There is no bridge, but you can cross easily by horse.
